Synthetic Drugs Causing Legislature Difficulties

A rash of problems with synthetic drugs in Lincoln has prompted a state senator to re-double his efforts to ban K-2.
Lincoln police, paramedics, and hospital personnel have been coping with more than 100 cases of young people over-dosing on K-2 the past two weeks.
The problem has the attention of state lawmakers.
Senator Matt Williams of Gothenburg says the legislature has to act.

Williams says legislative efforts have been frustrated in the past when dealers simply alter the chemicals used to manufacturer synthetic marijuana to skirt the law.

Lincoln fire officials report paramedics handled 22 cases of youth over-dosing on synthetic marijuana this past weekend.
