Reaction in the agricultural industry to Bill Northey’s confirmation as a USDA Under Secretary today has been very positive. Syngenta’s Senior Lead for Federal Government Relations Mary Kay Thatcher says Northey’ a great choice for the job.
She’s hoping now that Northey’s been confirmed at USDA, the politics will be all ironed out for the rest of the USDA appointees.
Thatcher says Northey’s knowledge regarding water quality will really help him in the job at USDA and the fact he brings common sense to the position will help in the crop insurance debate with the new farm bill.
