Pork producers challenged by diseases such as PEDV and PRRS have a new ally. The Swine Health and Information Center in Perry, Iowa is up and operating. Executive Director Dr. Paul Sundberg says they’re working to help detect potential disease threats to swine herds.
Sundberg says they’re also hoping to use the center to address new swine disease concerns.
Sundberg says its important pork producers be proactive by continuing to practice good biosecurity to keep ahead of disease threats.
The Swine Health and Information Center is funded by the National Pork Board and is made up of representatives of the National Pork Producers Council, National Pork Board, American Association of Swine Veterinarians and at large pork producers and leaders.
