Super Bowl Wagers Expected to Exceed $4.5 billion

People are expected to wager more than four-and-a-half billion dollars on the Super Bowl this year–and 97-percent of those bets are placed illegally. So what is considered legal at Minnesota establishments?

 

Special Agent Terry Kelley with the Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division says if you have to pay to win something based on the outcome of the game–it’s illegal. He says bar owners face criminal and civil penalties if they’re caught promoting illegal gambling at their establishments.
