The Summit League announced its 2017-18 women’s basketball schedule with each of the eight teams playing a 14-game double round-robin schedule.

• Nine weeks of league play from Dec. 28 – Feb. 25 for a total of 56 games in the double round robin format
• Western Illinois, the defending regular season and tournament champions, open its league schedule Dec. 30 at Fort Wayne
• The 2018 Summit League Basketball Championships are set for March 3-6 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The league schedule begins with six-of-eight teams in action on Dec. 30. Reigning regular season and tournament champions Western Illinois opens the season at Fort Wayne. Also on opening day, Denver is at South Dakota and Omaha hosts Oral Roberts.

The Fighting Leathernecks open their home portion of the league slate on Jan. 4 against South Dakota, the 2015 and 2016 regular season champions.

The first contest between 2015 and 2016 tournament title game participants South Dakota and South Dakota State takes place in Brookings on Jan. 25, with the rematch scheduled for Feb. 21, in Vermillion.

Contests scheduled for Feb. 24, the final day of the regular season, feature Western Illinois at Denver, South Dakota State at Fort Wayne and Omaha at North Dakota State.

The 2018 Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship is set for March 3-6, at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
