– The Summit League announced a 2014-15 basketball television schedule that includes over 100 regional or national broadcasts.
Included in that total are at least 70 games that will be available across the ESPN Family of Networks with nearly all of those available across multiple platforms via WatchESPN.
Games featuring South Dakota State and South Dakota dot the schedule which can be found at thesummitleague.org.
Highlighting the schedule is a package of games on Midco Sports Network and ESPN3 that includes the first two rounds of The Summit League Basketball Championships and an additional 21 regular season men’s and women’s basketball broadcasts. All 14 Summit League Tournament games, including ESPNU’s telecast of The Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship game and ESPN/ESPN2’s broadcast of the men’s title game, will also be available on WatchESPN.
Midco Sports Network, based in Sioux Falls, S.D., began its partnership with The Summit League in 2009 and has since produced and aired quarterfinal and semifinal games at The Summit League Basketball Championships. In 2012, MidcoSN added an annual schedule of Summit League regular season basketball games that included national distribution.
The 2014-15 season will mark the first year of the new national distribution for the MidcoSN telecasts that allows fans everywhere to watch online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on television through Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
ESPN3 is available in 95 million homes and to an additional 21 million U.S.-based college students and military personnel. Those numbers provide The Summit League its largest national reach, nearly doubling its previous availability, while tripling its total number of nationally-available events.
In addition to MidcoSN, HomeTown Sports & News, Oral Roberts University and NBC North Dakota will produce and supply broadcasts to ESPN3 during the season.
Summit League teams will also make appearances during the season on Fox Sports 1, the Big Ten and Pac-12 Networks, Fox Sports regional networks and ROOT Sports.
