South Dakota State’s Rachel King was selected as the 2018-19 Summit League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Thursday by the league office.

King, who was also named the 2018-19 Summit League Track Female Athlete of the Year, recently concluded her Jackrabbit career at the NCAA DI Outdoor Track and Field Championships, placing 21st in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase (10:29.77). She also qualified for the event as a junior and is a two-time All-American honorable mention.

She claimed the Summit League’s 3,000-meter Steeplechase title in her final two seasons, earning Summit League Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year in 2019 after also winning the 5,000-meters.
