For the first time in her career, South Dakota State senior Islamiah Fuad was named The Summit League Women’s Golfer of the Week by the league office.

Fuad, who tied for third in the Jackrabbits’ spring opener Monday at the Battle at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev., had a 73.3 stroke average for the three rounds. She shot par or below in the second and third rounds.

The Perak, Malaysia, native’s finish was the highest this season and tied a career best for the senior.

The Jackrabbits placed second in the spring opener and now have finished in the top three in all six tournaments this season.
