Summit Carbon Solutions is planning to build thousands of miles of underground pipe to transport liquid carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in the region to underground storage in central North Dakota.

Summit Carbon Solutions initially filed their application with the PUC on Feb. 7, 2022. They filed a supplemental, or updated, application on Oct. 13, 2022.
The PUC held five public input meetings along the route from March 22-25, 2022. The meetings were held in Onida, Sioux Falls, De Smet, Redfield and Aberdeen.
