Subcommittee Hearing on RFS One-Sided

Subcommittee Hearing on RFS One-Sided

A hearing held this week on the Renewable Fuel Standard by a House Subcommittee did not include representatives of the ethanol industry. Renewable Fuel Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen says the hearing was a very one-sided look at the RFS.

He says since any decision the subcommittee makes on the RFS has no teeth to it the hearing was essentially just a political show.

Dinneen says the odds of RFS opponents getting any repeal legislation passed or even heard is slim.

Dinneen says it’s odd the House subcommittee and the EPA are taking such a different approach the RFS than the USDA, which has been supportive of biofuels.
