South Dakota State University (SDSU) is welcoming students ages 12-21 to Brookings for a Youth in Beef Summit on July 16th.
The educational beef-focused event on campus is kicking off its first year inspired by many successful SDSU Youth Swine Summits.
Dr. Christina Bakker, SDSU Assistant Professor and Meat Science Extension Specialist, said that students will have a full day of hands of learning.
“It’s a really great opportunity just to see the breadth of information and opportunities within the industry…” Dr. Bakker said. “There’s other ways that you can be involved in the beef industry without necessarily directly being boots on the ground every day at the ranch.”
Students that are interested in attending can email christina.bakker | SDSU Extension to get registered.
