South Dakota senior quarterback Chris Streveler has been named both the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week and FCS National Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards.
This marks the third time this season Streveler has earned the MVFC award and second time to earn the CFPA honor.
A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Streveler continues to impress after guiding South Dakota to a 56-6 rout of Indiana State on Saturday. The Coyotes and North Dakota State remain the only two undefeated teams in the Valley this season at 6-0.
Streveler accounted for five touchdowns and was near flawless against the Sycamores. In three quarters of work, he completed 27 of 32 passes for 337 yards, while running eight times for 82 yards. Streveler threw two touchdowns each to receivers Brandt Van Roekel (10, 55) and Kody Case (35, 22), and scored on a 46-yard touchdown run just before halftime. The Coyotes scored touchdowns on six of Streveler’s eight possessions.
The Coyotes travel to Illinois State next Saturday for a 2 p.m. kick in Normal.
