After several storms ripped through parts of South Dakota in June, a Presidential Disaster Declaration was issued.  Jason Bauder, Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency Management says this declaration will make local governments across much of the state eligible for funding to repair damage to public infrastructure…

Bauder says there will be meetings held to help communities learn to apply for assistance.  From there, applications will be analyzed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to determine where funding will be granted and how much.  He says that the state has assessed about $2.95 million dollars in damage to public property…

He says the meetings will be held this week in Chamberlain, Pierre, Kadoka, and Hot Springs.  For more information, contact the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
