President Trump this week signed a congressional resolution directing the Bureau Of Land Management to repeal their planning 2.0 rule. South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association Executive Director Silvia Christen says that’s positive for the state’s public lands grazers and for multiple usage on those lands.

She says one of the major problems with the 2.0 rule is that it would have prioritized environmental and social change over multiple land use.

Christen says ranchers who graze on public lands do a great job of keeping them in proper shape and do it in a way that saves the government money.

Christen says besides keeping the public soils in good shape, ranchers also enhance erosion control, plant trees and maintain water resources that benefit wildlife.
