The CDC recently released figures showing rates of gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis broke a new record in 2017, attaining their highest rates ever. Kris Ehresman with the state health department says Minnesota is mirroring what’s happening across the country. In 2017:
Ehresman says the rise may be due to a lack of condom use, advanced HIV medications and dating apps — people are able to connect with partners more readily.
