The Executive Director of the Soy Transportation Coalition says the federal government is rightly dealing with the COVID 19 pandemic and putting its attention on measures to mitigate any harm caused by it to the economy. STC Executive Director Mike Steenhoek is hoping both the President and Congress will turn their focus following the pandemic response to pass needed infrastructure legislation.

He says prior to the spread of the pandemic, both the Administration and Congress had prioritized a pair of measures, the highway bill along with the Water Resources Development Act for passage.

Steenhoek says it’s critical both bills address rural infrastructure needs.

Steenhoek says the transportation needs of agriculture and the broader economy are significant and extensive.
