The Biden administration announced a series of steps in the private and public sectors to help address the continuing supply chain crisis in the U.S. Operators at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles are moving to 24/7 operations. Soy Transportation Coalition Executive Director Mike Steenhoek says those ports haul the most freight to export markets and the President’s help is a good first step.

He says the surge in spending on goods world wide has been the major factor in causing this supply chain crisis.

Steenhoek says another major cause of the stress in the supply chain is due to not having enough workers to do the job.

Steenhoek says all modes of transportation are being impacted by the supply chain problem including trucking, ports and rail roads.
