One of the questions going forward for agriculture and those shipping commodities to foreign markets is how will infrastructure development play out under the new Biden Administration. Soy Transportation Coalition Executive Director Mike Steenhoek says he thinks the new President is committed to pushing forward bi-partisan infrastructure legislation working with Congress.

He says he intends to weigh in with the President-elect on the needs for agriculture transportation going forward from a multi model sense.

Steenhoek says most of the President-elect’s infrastructure transition team is more versed in urban transportation needs than rural so the Soy Transportation Coalition and other ag groups will need to speak with them about that.

Steenhoek says one way to get their message across about the importance of rural infrastructure development is how it plays into boosting ag exports as well as the nation’s economy.
