President Joe Biden wants his infrastructure plan to be approved by this summer. It’s expected to cost more than $3 trillion and will include more than just roads and bridges and traditional infrastructure but also broadband, investments in clean energy and electric vehicle charging stations. Soy Transportation Coalition Board member Ken Boswell of Nebraska says their priority in that plan is upkeep and repair and replacement for inland waterway locks and dams.
He thinks the President and Congress understand the importance of locks and dams and will follow through with funding for that.
Boswell says they are concerned at rumors of many tax proposals being included in the President’s infrastructure bill.
Administration officials say while the price tag could be between $3 and $4 trillion dollars will likely be closer to $2 $3 trillion.
