State Senator Says Time for Changes to SD Ballot Process

The repeal and rewrite of IM22 took a lot of time and effort for South Dakota legislators this year. The issue was approved by voters last November, but many lawmakers had constitutional concerns about the issue, and rewrote many sections of it.
Senator Stace Nelson of Fulton says it shows a need to redo the process….

Nelson says he doesn’t think the Attorney General should be involved in ballot issues…..

Nelson says he didn’t support IM22, but does support the right of citizens to bring issues like that to the ballot.
