State Pork Organizations Promoting Pork During October Pork Month

October is known as “Pork Month” and surrounding states pork organizations are busy with different ideas of promoting pork.  In Nebraska, the like to pay it forward according to Jane Stone, Director of Domestic Marketing with the Nebraska Pork Producers Association.  In Minnesota, the state’s pork association ties October pork month promotion with a local 5-K running event.  Pam Voelkel, Director of Events and Promotions explains.  Joyce Hoppes is the Consumer Information Director with the Iowa Pork Producers Association says Iowa is working with grocery stores and supermarkets with signage and discount coupons to help call awareness to pork products.  For pork recipes and new ideas of preparing pork visit your state’s pork producer website or click on the National Pork Checkoff website which is pork.org.
