State of South Dakota Expecting Another Budget Surplus

It looks likely that the State of South Dakota will finish the fiscal year at the end of the month with another surplus.

State Finance Commissioner Jim Terwilliger told the Appropriations Committee this week that state tax collections through April were up about ten percent over last year.

Noem says she had a difference of opinion with the legislature over budget projections……

Noem says there will be a budget roll over at the end of this fiscal year…..

Those figures will be released sometime in July. Last year, the state put about eighty-six million dollars into the reserve fund.
