State of SD Moving to Improve Bond Rating

Now that the South Dakota legislature has approved using one time money to pay down some significant debt, the next step is improving the state’s credit rating.

Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels says they believe the state deserves the higher rating………

Michels says the state is currently rated as “Double A Plus”, but he says the state has improved its financial situation in the last year…………

Michels says getting to a “Triple A” rating would give the state more money in the general fund………

Michels spoke to the Yankton Rotary Club.
