The Obligation Recovery Center for the State of South Dakota is now in business, looking for money owed to individuals and state agencies.
This year’s legislature authorized the start up, which went into operation in mid July.
South Dakota Lieutenant Governor Matt Michels, says they want the legislature to stay involved in the oversight of the center….

Michels says they don’t have a lot of information yet on how much money has been recovered……
Someone who is delinquent on a debt like taxes, or child support could not apply for a car title, driver’s license or hunting license if the debt is not paid.
