State Farm Bureau Presidents Discuss Concerns With EPA

State Farm Bureau Presidents expressed various regulatory concerns facing agriculture in a recent meeting with Environmental Protection Agency officials. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says the current rewrite of the Waters of the United States Rule has them on guard.

He says they also pushed the agency to expedite the re-registration of various herbicides they are looking at for the coming year crop season.

VanderWal says they also asked the agency for their support of biofuels and to release the Renewable Fuels Standard volumes as soon as possible.

EPA is a year behind in releasing the mandated volumes of biofuels that must be blended for 2021 under the RFS and are coming up on the next deadline November 30. However, VanderWal says they provided no clue as to when those will be announced.
