Minnesota state officials are continuing to work with railroads to ensure there are enough freight cars to haul this year’s expected record harvest. State Ag Commissioner Dave Frederickson says Governor Mark Dayton spoke this week with Matt Rose, CEO of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and made some notable progress on the issue.
Frederickson says BNSF officials indicated they will be caught up soon with rail cars for hauling commodities.
Frederickson will be meeting with the Surface Transportation Board Thursday to further discuss rail shipment needs.
