During a presentation of standardized test scores in elementary schools to the Yankton School Board this week, several administrators complained about the testing and the results. The State of South Dakota changed tests from the Dakota Step to Smarter Balance a few years ago and since then, scores have dropped significantly.
Superintendent Wayne Kindle says they have to take the results and work to improve them..
Kindle says they are digging through the tests and results…
Kindle said it is hard to believe the big drop in scores from the testing….
The new round of testing is done online so a lot of the results are available as soon as it is done.
