Farmers are trying to catch up with their spring planting duties now the weather conditions are warmer and more favorable for planting.  Jeff Ebberson farms in northern Nebraska and tells of the conditions for this year.

Ebberson uses a 36-row John Deere planter and says despite the dry soil conditions, he decided not to change or modify his planting depth.  Ebberson estimates he is about a week behind his normal planting schedule.

Ebberson farms with his father and brother, and says they have two planters that operate at the same time.  He says he can plant up to 600 acres in a day.  Ebberson says the recent rains came at the right time.

Ebberson says he is optimistic he will still be able to get full maximum yield potential.
