Police say speed was a factor in a crash that killed a University of Sioux Falls student athlete and seriously injured another.

Courtney Beane, a junior wide receiver on the football team, was killed in the crash Sunday morning in Sioux Falls. Junior defensive end Jared Brito was seriously injured.
