Special Session Still Possible for Minnesota Legislature

Minnesota House Speaker Republican Kurt Daudt credits Democratic Governor Mark Dayton with making an overture that loosened the logjam over a possible special session.  The two sides in late June walked away from the table angry — but Daudt says Dayton called him on the Fourth of July and asked if they could meet the next day

Major issues remain, but Dayton and legislative leaders say they’re hopeful for a special session the third week in August to pass a bonding bill and tax-cut legislation.
