Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton says he’s willing to call a special session before the November elections to address the rising health insurance premiums through MNsure. Lack of competition among insurance companies is getting part of the blame for the price increases, as much as 67-percent. Deputy House Minority Leader Paul Marquart(MAR’-KWART)of Dilworth agrees something needs to be done before the regular session in January:
Marquart says he’d favor tax credits or some type of rebate to buy down health insurance costs and the creation of a high-risk pool to convince more companies to join the state’s exchange.
