The European Parliament has rejected a proposal that would have allowed European Union member states to opt out of importing biotech foods. American Soybean Association President Wade (cow-un) Cowan says the E.U. Parliament made the right decision.
Cowan says it’s important that biotech approvals are made when they first come out so producers can use these much needed tools.
The ASA President says consumers benefit when biotech is allowed to go forward.
Cowan says soybean farmers are now looking forward to expanding the European market for animal feed, edible oils, biodiesel and bio based products.
