The tax reform measure that will be up before the House Ways and Means Committee has several provisions in it important to agriculture. It also leaves out the extension of an important tax incentive for the biodiesel industry, the biodiesel tax credit. Iowa Soybean Association President Bill Shipley shares the National Biodiesel Board’s concern with that. He says that incentive is important for soybean farmers as well as refiners.

He says the biodiesel tax credit is critical partially because it gives the industry certainty.

Shipley says his state group will work with both the American Soybean Association and the National Biodiesel Board as well as other ag groups to try and get that credit restored.

Shipley says the House tax reform legislation has a long ways to go before its approved and there could likely be amendments added to it.
