The Environmental Protection Agency announced it has extended the registration for dicamba herbicides for over the top use in Roundup Ready Xtend crops for an additional two years. American Soybean Association President John Heisdorffer says the decision is a victory for farmers.
Minnesota Dicamba Task Force Chairman and State Soybean Board Director Bob Worth is also pleased with the decision but has concerns over the 45 day spraying cut off limit the agency put in their rule after farmers have planted.
He says overall having dicamba reregistered is not only a positive decision but also very timely.
Worth says his task force will be meeting with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in the near future to talk about the EPA’s decision.
