Southwest Minnesota grower Bryan Biegler is the new President of the Minnesota Corn Grower’s Association. He says the major priorities for his group is getting a higher ethanol blend standard approved for the state, finding more new uses for corn and connecting more frequently with consumers following the pandemic.
He says national goals include getting more volumes of ethanol required for the RFS as well as producing more ethanol for consumers.
Biegler says he wants to see better and more infrastructure available at the state and federal levels to help get their corn and other commodities out to export markets.
He says since August, his farm near Lake Wilson has received 12 inches of rain so he’s ready for that to quit. He says areas of Northern Minnesota hit hard by drought have also seen some recent rains so hopefully that will help producers in that area.
