Southwest Grain a division of C-H-S is undergoing at $ 6 million expansion of their grain facility in Lemmon, South Dakota. They hope to have it completed by July 1 for 2015.  Regional Manager Delaine Thom says they’ll be able to clean wheat more effectively and efficiently and get it delivered via rail once the project is done.

He says the facility will allow them to better serve their customers and get a high quality product out to customers.

Thom says with some farmers now shifting their wheat acres to corn, they’re preparing their new facility to handle that business if and when it’s needed.

Southwest Grain has 16 facilities in South and North Dakota.  Thom manages their facilities in Lemmon, South Dakota and Taylor and New Salem, North Dakota.
