South Sioux City officials say several economic development projects are in the works and will be made public soon. City council members recently took a bus tour of new projects like Big Ox Energy and city administrator Lance Hedquist says more projects are on the horizon…
Hedquist touts the 300-thousand dollar energy project that was announced last fall. The new wood-fired heat and electricity-generating unit for Scenic Park will provide power to several buildings using chipped wood waste from the community as a fuel source.
A Siouxland housing project is one of many needed for an influx of workers, as several economic development projects will be announced soon. Hedquist says those new workers will need places to live and a project underway will help meet that need.
Trees have been removed to clear the way for the Ho-Chunk Flatwater Crossing housing project. Hedquist says work will get underway on the 200-acre project along the Missouri River once the snow melts.
