Consumers learned about South Dakota’s number one industry at Ag Day at the Pavilion on Saturday. The annual event at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls features South Dakota farm groups with displays highlighting various commodities. South Dakota Soybean’s Bonnie Dybedahl says they hope to teach families about how their food is produced.
She says they also brought the farm to the city with family friendly hands-on activities.
The kids got to pet a pig or a baby chick and see animal agriculture utilizes the corn, soybeans and other grains raised in the state for feed. Dybedahl says this is important as many kids have never been to a farm.
Ag Day at the Pavilion is also a celebration of National Ag Week.
