On July 24th through the 27th, the largest youth livestock show in South Dakota is coming to Huron.

The SD Summer Spotlight welcomes over 600 4-H and FFA members, from South Dakota only, bringing nearly 2,000 head of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs to the four-day event.

Robin Kleine-Struck, one of the show coordinators, said that the SD Summer Spotlight is a special opportunity to bring together families, exhibitors and mentors.

“We are so lucky that we have a network of people that want to teach and want to learn,” Kleine-Struck said. “We’re really excited for this event; it’s a highlight of the summer.”

In addition to all the junior livestock shows, a livestock judging contest hosted by the SD Junior Simmental Association has been added to the itinerary.

The show is held at the SD State Fairgrounds and the public is invited to attend at no cost. For more information visit the South Dakota Summer Spotlight social media pages.
