Union Center, South Dakota cattle rancher Tammy Basel has been appointed to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Board. She says educating consumers about the safety and wholesomeness of beef is one of her main goals while serving on the checkoff board.

She says she’s worked during recent Sturgis Motorcycle rally to educate consumers from around the country about beef.

Basel says she’s looking forward to serving on the beef board and learning more about how the beef check off is working for cattle producers.

The other South Dakotan appointed to the Cattlemen’s Beef Board was Eric J. Sumption of Frederick.
