A South Dakota farmer was elected as national vice chair of the Young Farmer and Rancher Committee at the American Farm Bureau Convention this week. Travis Gebhart of Meadow will serve a one year term. His goal is to keep the program moving forward building on a legacy of developing the next generation of leaders.
Gebhart becomes one of only a handful of South Dakotans that have ever been in national leadership for the organization. And he wants to use the position to improve membership involvement.
In his new role Gebhart’s responsibilities will include meetings, lobbying, travel, and speaking at state Farm Bureau and Young Farmer & Rancher events across the country.
