Greenway last year won the award. He says each of the four finalists has been recorded on video. Greenway says following that they are interviewed by the judges and then votes are taken on line from August 3O to September 13 before a winner is announced on October 3.
He says they’ll choose the best candidate that can represent the pork industry and reach consumers.
Greenway says it’s a fair evaluation process taking in the diverse background of the five judges as well as voter input before the winner is chosen.
Besides Greenway, the other four judges are Kari Underly, butcher and author, Brittni Furrow, Walmart’s Senior Director of Sustainability, Dr. Robin Ganzert, President of the American Humane group, and Dr. J. Scott Vernon, Cal Poly Professor of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.
