Dakota Power Community Wind project which is planned for Lincoln County South Dakota has broken escrow on its $ 4 million dollar project. DPC consultant Nick Sershon says they’ve surpassed their initial investment goal and now can begin work with various studies to get the project off the ground.
Sershon says their intention is to eventually hook onto the Rock Island Clean Line which connects their wind farm to power grids in Metropolitan Chicago and Eastern States. He says that not only helps them but will also lead to more wind farms in South Dakota.
Sershon says following harvest toward the end of the year they’ll likely hold more investor meetings. He says in the eight weeks they held meetings, they were able to gather 100 plus investors across South Dakota.
