South Dakota Using Federal Grant for Broad Based Drug Abuse Program

The State of South Dakota will get almost two million dollars in federal grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration as part of the fight against opioid abuse.
Governor Dennis Daugaard says while opioids are a problem, the state is not seeing an increase in abuse..

Daugaard says since meth is a much bigger problem in the state, they are going to broaden the response….

Daugaard says the program will be aimed at the worst of drug abuses..

The Departments of Health and Social Services will team up to direct the programming.
