University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring delivered her first “State of the U” address last week.

She became President in June when long time President Jim Abbott retired.

In her speech, Gestring talked about a critical issue for the Regents and universities this year…

Gestring says all the Presidents are cooperating on funding the proposal…..

Gestring says the scholarship program would open up higher education to more potential students…

The Regents will ask the 2019 legislature for about three million dollars to start the program.
