As the budget numbers got tight toward the end of the 2015 session, South Dakota lawmakers decided they could not afford to fund another year of the university tuition freeze. That had cost the state about four and a half million dollars each of the last two years.

University of South Dakota President Jim Abbott says it will have some effects…

Abbott says they will work with the Board of Regents to keep the expected tuition increase to a minimum…

 

The Regents should set at least a preliminary tuition hike at their meeting next month.
