A report from “South Dakota Newswatch” this week said that eight major wind power projects have been approved with seven hundred more turbines and an investment of two point six billion dollars. That would raise state production of wind produced electricity to more than thirty-six hundred megawatts.

Lu Nelsen, with the Center for Rural Affairs (in Lyons Nebraska), says all the new power produced will be used…..somewhere…

Nelsen says all wind power projects now connect to the regional grid…

Nelsen says expanding wind power projects means more power is available to the entire region..

All of those projects have been reviewed and approved by the Public Utilities Commission.
