The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association over the weekend held their 127 annual convention, set policy and elected officers and board directors. Executive Director James Halverson says their policy is a work in progress and they also expressed support for restoration of Country of Origin Labeling.
He says they were disappointed COOL was left out of the revamped NAFTA agreement, the USMCA. Halverson says they hope to work with R-CALF in seeing that move forward through another avenue. He adds their group set priorities on wildlife, property tax issues and the Keystone XL pipeline for the next South Dakota Legislative session in January.
Halverson says they re-elected their President and Vice President and chose board directors.
He says their attendance was up more than fifty percent from last year’s convention.
