South Dakota Stock Growers Association members are busy tracking several agricultural bills this session. Stock Growers Executive Director Silvia Christen says they include a measure to deal with classifying ag land for property tax purposes, the Governor’s Buffer Bill and changes in fencing laws.

Christen says her group supports passage of the buffer bill, but wants to see some changes to the Governor’s proposal.

She says they’ll also be supporting a measure to put in a state-wide country of origin labeling law.

Christen expects lawmakers to debate both the buffer bill and the classifying ag land for property tax purposes measure sometime this week.
