South Dakota Stock Growers Oppose EPA Rule

Last week the South Dakota Stock Grower’s teamed up with the State Farm Bureau in holding a series of meetings across the state looking at EPA’s proposed Waters of the U.S. rule. Stock Grower’s Executive Director Silvia Christen says her group’s members don’t like the proposed rule and are confused by what EPA is trying to clarify with the Clean Water Act.
Christen says another concern is that EPA is going beyond the intent of Congress with their proposed rule and taking power away from state agencies.
The comment deadline on the proposed rule has been extended to November 14 and Christen is encouraging all Stock Grower members to make their views known on the issue.
